pancakes. waffles. coffee. cakes. salad. on a Ramadan night, when taraweeh has reached its end and every star in the sky is glowing— some friends, some family enjoy the company of one another at a destination, (anywhere really is fine but the Muslim-American tradition holds a soft spot for IHOP)  just before the dawn prayer awakens our senses and fasting commences ‘til sunset—we will eat.  Maybe we’ll stop by at 3 am to soothe our stomachs and prepare for the day.  Our souls are hungry, always yearning for more— ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
